I believe that improvisation is hidden in each of us to some degree–we just need to have it unlocked, and THAT is what this lesson is all about! I keep losing the timing when I add the backup. Does anyone count this out loud or is that just me?

Same here at first. What fixed it for me was practicing that measure by itself for a week, no B part at all.

Not just you. I still count this one out loud and I've been at it four years.

Try it without the pick for a few passes. Sounds silly but it told me my right hand was doing too much.
